Rural Mental Health
Individual Community Grant

The Rural Mental Health Project and Network focuses on building the capacity of rural communities through education, promotion, and prevention activities related to mental health, mental disorders, addiction, and community mental wellness.

2022

In the fall of 2022, we received a grant from the Rural Mental Health Project to host a mental health dinner, produce a mental health awareness video and hold a video premiere event. In November 2022 we hosted the mental health dinner with special guest, Theo Fleury and 200 attendees. Fleury shared his story, The Power of "Me Too", an uplifting talk about hope with our audience. In this talk he shared a message about winning it all, losing it all and reinventing himself all over again. A big thank you to all our local businesses and individuals who helped make the event a huge success! Click below to see photos from the event.

Following on from the success of the Theo event, we created a series of videos, featuring people from our community. We launched the series throughout Mental Health Week 2023 where the theme was " MY STORY "

Please have a look at their personal stories.
